Selecting a Grout Color

Grout is available in a full variety of colors.

If you want to focus on the style of the tile then use a color that best matches or compliments the tile color as seen in this image to the right.

If you want to emphasize the tile pattern then use a higher contrast color as seen in this image to the right.

When choosing a color consider the amount of foot traffic the area will endure. Depending on how often the floor is cleaned and used will determine how quickly the grout lines will age and show signs of stains. Although there are grout cleaners available, you may choose a grout color that minimizes the effects of stains by choosing moderate colors and avoiding extremely light or dark colors.

"I needed 2 bathrooms remodeled. The first contractor took months, had to be fired and that tub-shower combo looks terrible and will eventually have to be torn out and redone. The second contractor did the second bathroom’s shower which was MUCH worse so we had to fire that guy too.
I finally got Carlton’s name as being really good. I had to wait months because he’s always busy. He completely ripped out that shower in the second bathroom and had to start from scratch because contractor number 2’s work was SO substandard. Carlton does quality work and seems to be a rare bird - in being a real professional since he knows what he’s doing, does a quality job, and works as quickly as a quality job requires.
